What the Kubota K008-5 is for

The Kubota K008-5 0.8 tonne micro digger is our smallest digger and the one that gets into places nothing else can. It needs a gap wider than 75 cm, which covers most standard side gates and terraced entries.
People hire it for back garden jobs: cable and pipe trenches, digging out for patios and decking, taking out old shrubs and roots, and levelling small plots. It is light, so it does far less damage to lawns and block paving on the way in and out.
Where people go wrong: they expect it to dig like the mini. On a long or deep footing it is slower, and the U17-5 will finish the job sooner. If the job is small or the access is tight, the micro is the right call.
It is also the machine that runs our Kubota KM55 breaker. If there is an old concrete path or patio to break out first, book the two together.

Questions we get asked
Is a micro digger the same as a micro excavator?
Yes. The Kubota K008-5 is a 0.8 tonne micro excavator, small enough to go through a 75 cm gate. It is self-drive, from £70 a day ex VAT, delivered across Wolverhampton and the West Midlands.
Do I need a licence to hire it?
No licence or ticket is needed to hire from us or to operate the machine on private property. We hand over the machine on site, walk you through the controls and the daily checks, and the operator guide stays with the machine.
Do I need insurance?
No insurance needed to hire. You're responsible for the machine while it's with you. You can get a hired-in plant insurance quote at checkout.
Is there a deposit?
No deposit and no trade account. We keep the card you pay with on file and only charge it for damage or loss, under our hire terms.
What access width do I need?
The K008-5 needs a gap wider than 75 cm with the tracks retracted, which is a standard doorway or a garden gate. The tracks then widen to 860 mm on site for stability.
What does delivery cost to Dudley or Walsall?
Transport is £40 each way for the first 10 miles, then £1.80 per mile after that. Dudley and Walsall are both inside the first 10 miles, so both are £40 each way. Checkout prices your exact postcode before you pay.
Is there a weekend rate?
No. We charge for every 24 hours, so there is no weekend rate. Friday to Monday is 3 days: £220 for the micro digger.
